The fronts of the revolutionary movement in the House of Representatives must be unmasked as they hide behind the institutions they ultimately seek to destroy as a springboard for their sinister objectives.
From the start of the Marcos administration, their goal was to create a wedge between President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. and Vice President Sara Duterte for obvious reasons: A stable regime would lead to their early demise.
The impeachment complaints against Duterte are the culmination of a design to keep the political temperature elevated.
After the emotional eruption of Duterte, the yellow mob and its left-wing allies rejoiced as the rift between the two powerful forces became irreparable. The expectation was that the two top officials of the land would leap at each other’s necks.
Mr. Marcos knew better and doused the flame, urging his allies in Congress to keep away from impeaching Duterte, frustrating the agenda of the rabble-rousers.
National Security Council Assistant Director General Jonathan Malaya said the security team in the Cabinet expected the destabilization group to pursue the impeachment effort to create “an impression of instability.”
“We condemn the kind of statements coming from the Makabayan bloc as it goes against the spirit of what the President said,” according to the top security official.
He added the impeachment complaint would take the nation’s attention away from more pressing problems.
Malaya condemned the type of political opportunism that the Red and Yellow mobs have resorted to.
Malaya indicated that the Makabayan bloc’s impeachment push is an attempt to extract political mileage ahead of the midterm elections.
To squeeze the juice out of the effort to oust Duterte, Makabayan lawmakers are now gathering signatures to secure one-third of the over 300 representatives to sign the impeachment resolution.
Malaya pointed to the recent street mobilizations as being in synchronicity with the actions the Makabayan bloc had taken in Congress.
“The violent action by the left on Mendiola last Bonifacio Day was an attempt to manufacture a political crisis and create violence in the streets.”
While Mr. Marcos indicated that the friction with Duterte was “a storm in a teacup,” the hate mongers seek to maintain a fractious situation.
“The President is correct. It will tie down the Senate and the House. The President is just concerned about addressing the needs of the Filipino people,” Malaya held.
Along with the offensive to widen the rift between the erstwhile UniTeam tandem, the unholy alliance among the putschists, Catholic Church activists, also-rans and the anarchists is calling on the public to join the clamor for “the complete abolition of all confidential funds” that they claim have become a source of corruption in government.
Such funds, however, were responsible for decimating the armed rebellion of the New People’s Army by freeing the schools of the agents of lies that the rebels deployed.
In a briefing on the second impeachment complaint, one of the leaders of the left-wingers said, “Duterte’s impeachment is just the beginning, not the end.”
“Even if VP Sara is held accountable, the Marcoses still hold control over confidential funds and unprogrammed appropriations in our budget. While billions are cut from education and state universities and colleges, corruption continues without end. Confidential funds must be abolished, and the number one enabler of thieves, the Marcos dynasty, must also be held accountable. We must leave behind this corrupt politics, especially with the upcoming 2025 elections,” according to the script of the left as enunciated by one of its mouthpieces.
The real aim is to chip away at the government’s credibility, and to achieve this the agitators will try to subvert efforts to restore calm and sobriety.
A fair warning is that those plotting to undermine the government already have a track record in mayhem and in hijacking the people’s will expressed through the ballot.
