The Manuel V. Pangilinan-led Manila Electric Company (Meralco) reaffirmed its commitment to delivering stable, reliable, and efficient electricity across its franchise area, emphasizing its role in powering economic growth and improving community livelihoods.
At the recently concluded Capampangan in Media, Inc. (CAMI) Forum held in Clark, Pampanga, Meralco officials outlined initiatives to enhance power service reliability. Moderated by CAMI member and Meralco Vice President and Head of Corporate Communications Joe Zaldarriaga, the forum highlighted the utility company's strategic investments and partnerships, including efforts to support Pampanga’s growing power needs.
“Stable, adequate, and reliable electricity is critical to national development,” Zaldarriaga said, noting Meralco’s role in driving progress within and beyond its franchise area.
Meralco Senior Vice President and Head of External and Government Affairs Atty. Arnel Casanova shared that several local government unit (LGU) leaders have expressed interest in partnerships with Meralco to improve local electric cooperatives. These collaborations aim to spur business expansion, improve community services, and uplift livelihoods.
In Pampanga, tangible benefits of Meralco's management and investments are already visible, according to Pampanga Electric Cooperative II (PELCO II) Chief Management Advisor Joe-Mel S. Zaporteza. Among the advancements is a new 20-megavolt ampere (MVA) substation in Mabalacat, which will increase the area’s power supply.
PELCO II, co-managed by Meralco, also recently acquired a new mobile substation to enhance customer service and reliability further. These developments demonstrate Meralco’s dedication to creating a resilient energy infrastructure that fuels regional growth.
With these efforts, Meralco underscores its role as a key partner in fostering sustainable development and improving the quality of life for its customers.
