On Monday, newly appointed Manila International Airport Authority Acting General Manager Eric Jose Castro Ines conducted his first meeting with the heads of the MIAA Airport Police Department, where he gave the order to address the traffic issue at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport terminals.
Ines said he personally experienced the problem many times. But, despite the heavy traffic, he said he would see some airport police merely on their cell phones while on duty.
Ines also order APD to solve the problem of colorum taxis and other colorum transport vehicles that operate in NAIA that defraud newly arrived passengers, especially first-time foreign tourists, with high fare rates.
In his statement during the earlier lag-raising ceremony, Ines said that, as the newly appointed acting GM of MIAA, he will serve as a good example to all airport employees and remind all airport personnel that, as public servants, they need to be honest at all times.
The airport acting chief also announced to airport personnel that their performance bonus for 2022 has been approved and will be released soon.
