CAMP FLORENDO, La Union — The Police Regional Office in Region 1 has ramped up security as Christmas and New Year's Days approach, according to PRO-1 chief Police Brig. Gen. Lou Frias Evangelista.

This comes as the PRO-1 chief inspected transportation hubs and bus terminals in San Fernando, La Union and Vigan City, Ilocos Sur to ensure peace and order for people returning home for the holidays.

In his talk to men in San Fernando City Police Station, Evangelista encouraged his men to strengthen traffic management especially along major thoroughfares to reduce traffic congestion.

"As the Holiday approaches, always prioritize safety," Evangelista said.
