DAVAO CITY — The city government here through the City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO) started the payout to some barangays for the senior citizen subsidy for this year.
On 9 December, it will be rolled out to four barangays in Calinan District, four barangays in Tugbok District, and six barangays in Toril District.
CSWDO Head Julie Dayaday said that while the payout starts, she is asking for patience and consideration from those who are not yet included in the schedule.
On 4 December, CSWDO posted the schedule for the per-district payout of the senior citizen subsidy.
A payout for unclaimed annual subsidy was initially conducted on 5 December at the Calinan District Office.
"We have already started the release of our annual subsidy for 2023, to our qualified senior citizens, we are asking you to wait for your schedule," Dayaday said.
She also said that as it is already December, there is a possibility that the payout will be extended to January due to the office's busy schedule.
Senior citizens who reach 60 years old are eligible for an annual subsidy of P1,500.
Based on Ordinance No. 0954-22, known as 'The Amended Annual Financial Assistance to All Qualified Senior Citizens Ordinance of Davao City," which expanded the pool of senior citizen-beneficiaries to include those aged 60 years old, senior citizens are required to have their own Office of the Senior Citizens Affairs (OSCA) ID, Voter's Registration, and membership in senior citizen's organization to be eligible for the subsidy.
