Dear Atty. Peachy,
A man was arrested at the VIP parking lot of Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 3 on Wednesday evening after the authorities found illegal drugs in his possession.
The PNP-Avseu Police Sub Station 3 initially reported that the suspect entered the NAIA Terminal 3 VIP parking area despite not being authorized to park inside the VIP parking.
The guard stopped the suspect, who was driving a dark gray Montero Sport with license plate OBE-206, but he insisted and forced himself to enter by hitting the boom at the entrance of the VIP parking. Immediately, the on-duty security guard called for backup.
The personnel from the PNP-Avseu and NAIA-PDEA immediately responded to the incident. Patrolman Palaganas arrested the suspect, who was allegedly under the influence of illegal drugs.
The suspect was identified as Norberto Espino, a 52-year-old male.
Airport authorities also confiscated three plastic sachets containing suspected shabu weighing five grams with a street value of P34,000, along with used large aluminum foils and drug paraphernalia.
The suspect is already in the custody of the NAIA-PDEA, and he is scheduled to be charged with the corresponding case related to illegal drugs and driving without a license.
