1,500 Phl Army, Marines undergo drills in Ilocos
Contingents from the Philippine Army and Philippine Marines Corps have started undergoing "Occupation of Battle Position" exercises in Burgos, Ilocos Norte.
In a statement on Friday, Army spokesperson LtCol. Louie Dema-Ala said the drills are part of the Armed Forces of the Philippines Joint Exercises 'Dagat-Langit-Lupa' (AJEX DAGITPA), aimed at fortifying forces' territorial defense posture, sharpening the external security capabilities and responding to emerging threats with unparalleled precision.
More than 1,500 active and reserve personnel from the Army, Air Force, Navy, Marines, Special Operations Command, and Cyber Group are participating in the exercise, which will run until 17 November.
