ZAMBOANGA CITY — Police have formally filed a complaint for murder and frustrated murder against a village chief, her husband and two others after they were positively identified as responsible for the slay of Kamar Bilao Bansil, a candidate for village chief of Barangay Sigayan, Kapatagan in Lanao del Sur.
Lanao del Sur Police provincial director Robert Daculan revealed that they formally filed a murder and frustrated murder complaint against spouses Pabil H. Pagrangan and Normalah B. Pagrangan, an incumbent village chief of Barangay Sigayan in Kapatagan town. Daculan said they also filed a similar complaint against Tomy Esmail and Marof Esmail, who allegedly aided Pabil in the ambush last 25 October which killed Bansil.

The police said they filed a complaint of Murder and frustrated murder in relation to RA 7610; 3 counts of attempted murder in relation to RA 7610 and attempted murder in violation of BP 881 before the Provincial Prosecutors Office in Lanao del Sur.
To recall, Bansil was driving his multi-cab vehicle together with his wife and son on board when they were sprayed with automatic gunfire by the group of Pagrangan who positioned themselves along the road of Sigayan on 25 October.
Bansil was supposed to contest the re-election bid of Normalah, Pagrangan's wife.
Lanao del Sur province is one of the component provinces of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao.
