Fresh from the success of Dirty Linen, Francine Diaz and Seth Fedelin star in the mystery-thriller series Fractured that started streaming yesterday, 15September, on iWantTFC.

They lead the cast of characters consisting of young social media influencers whose dream vacation in a picture-perfect island turns into a deadly nightmare.

The love-team partners, who are known by the portmanteau FranSeth, said their new roles are a bit more mature compared to their previous ones in terms of showing toughness and roughness in their actions and dialogues. They could also relate to the series' message of being more responsible in using social media.

"Hindi rin naman ako perfect," Diaz said at the recent media launch of Fractured, adding that she does not share everything on social media so what her fans see are "positive lahat." After all, her goal is to inspire her predominantly Millennial and Gen Z followers.

Fedelin agreed: "As an influencer, minsan ang pinapakita ko puro maganda lang. Pero meron akong mga kapintasan. 'Yun, hindi ko puwedeng ipakita sa mga kabataan na puwedeng makaapekto sa kanila."

(As an influencer, what I show are only positive things. I do have my own flaws, but I can't show them since that might affect other kids.)

Director Thop Nazareno explained further the series' theme and title: "Sa social media, lahat tayo, we only show the perfect side of us, pero ang katotohanan kasi lahat naman tayo fractured, lahat tayo broken. Hindi lang natin pinapakita sa mga tao, hindi lang natin shini-share. Pinipili lang natin ang shini-share natin. Dito, 'yun ang makikita ng tao — the fractured side. Lahat ng mga characters na mami-meet natin, fractured."

(On social media, we only show the perfect side of us. But the truth is all of us are fractured, all of us are broken. We just don't show that to people, and we choose what we share to them. In this series, that's what's viewers will see — all the characters are fractured).

The other characters are played by Raven Rigor (also from Dirty Linen), Mary Joy Apostol, Kaori Oinuma, Jeremiah Lisbo, Daniela Stranner, Sean Tristan and Vaughn Piczon. They are supported by seasoned actors Mylene Dizon, Jennica Garcia (also from Dirty Linen), Kim Rodriguez and KaladKaren.

Real score

What's the real score between Diaz and Fedelin?

"Happy kami ngayon," Fedelin said. But, no, they haven't reached the courtship stage yet. "Wala pa po. Bago s'ya, liligawan ko muna si Tita," he added, referring to Diaz's mother. (We're happy at this point. But no courtship yet. Before her, I'll woo Tita first.)

The two clarified that they're happy for now getting to know each other and becoming better friends, and they're not about to do more for mere fan service.

"Kung ano po ang nakikita n'yo on-cam, gano'n naman din po kami off-cam. Kasi kapag fan service, parang 'fake.' Wala namang gano'n," said Diaz. (What they see on-cam, that's what we are off-cam. Fan service seems fake, so we're not into that.)

Fedelin added, "We're not faking it… Araw-araw naman po, nagi-improve ang samahan namin… Pero to be honest po, wala pa kami sa iniisip ng marami na ganito-ganito, ganyan-ganyan." (Every day, our friendship grows. But to be honest, we're not yet at that stage that many people think we're in.)
