Manila Mayor Honey Lacuna on Tuesday handed out cash assistance to about 252 families and 35 unattached individuals who were victims of a fire that occurred 1 to 6 September in the areas of Baseco and Districts 1, 2, 5 and 6.

She was assisted by Manila Department of Social Welfare Re Fugoso in distributing the monetary help amounting to a total of over P2.6 million.
In her short message, Lacuna boosted the morale of the fire victims as she expressed confidence that they will be able to move on from the experience.

The lady mayor also assured the fire victims that the local government will always be there to provide whatever assistance is possible to help them start anew.

Lacuna likewise reminded the fire victims to continue being cautious against doing anything that may trigger fire and do their best to avoid a repeat of what happened to them.
