EJ Obiena settled for second place with 5.72 meters at the Meeting International de Sotteville-Les-Rouen in France early Saturday (Manila time).
Obiena, 27, made the mark in one go, taking the silver medal via countback over France's Baptiste Thierry, and Thiabut Collet and Menno Vloom of The Netherlands.
This is the three-time Southeast Asian Games' final tournament before playing in the Asian Athletics Championships in Pattaya, Thailand from 12 to 16 July.
Kurtis Marschall of Australia took home the gold after making 5.95 meters.
Obiena's training partner Thiago Braz of Brazil took sixth place over French pole vaulter Anthony Ammirati and Al Hizam Hussein Assem of Saudi Arabia via countback despite the three athletes tallying 5.62m.
