President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. issued administrative orders granting service recognition incentives and a one-time rice allowance to select government employees, Malacañang announced on Saturday.
The latest AO authorizes the grant of a one-time service recognition incentive at a uniform rate not exceeding P20,000 for employees of the Executive department, according to the Office of the Press Secretary.
Press Undersecretary Cheloy Garafil said those qualified to receive the incentives include those in state universities and colleges, government-owned or controlled corporations, regular, contractual, or casual employees, members of the military and the police, as well as fire and jail personnel under the Department of the Interior and Local Government.
Also entitled to the holiday bonanza are personnel from the Bureau of Corrections, the Philippine Coast Guard, and the National Mapping and Resource Information Authority.
Employees of both chambers of Congress, the Judiciary, the Office of the Ombudsman, and Constitutional offices may likewise be qualified for a one-time SRI by their respective heads of office.
Meanwhile, local government unit employees, including those in the barangays, may also receive the incentive depending on the LGU's financial capability, subject to the limitation in the LGU budget under the Local Government Code of 1991.
The incentive will be funded by the available released Personnel Services allotment under the 2022 national budget.
Moreover, the President issued an order authorizing the grant of one-time rice assistance for government personnel.
Qualified recipients
Entitled to receive the rice subsidy include civilian personnel in NGAs, including those in state universities and colleges, government-owned and controlled government corporations, government financial institutions, government instrumentalities with corporate powers, and state corporate entities occupying regular, contractual, or casual positions.
Military, police, fire, and jail personnel would also be qualified to receive the rice assistance as well as BuCor, PCG and NAMRIA employees.
