PNP-ACG ops collar lawbreakers

The Philippine National Police Anti-Cybercrime Group conducted a total of 20 Police Initiated Operations from 28 November to 4 December 2022 — including five entrapment operations and 15 servings of warrants of arrest.

ACG director PBGen Joel B Doria said that during the entrapment operations, authorities arrested suspects for Violations of Art 315 (Swindling/Estafa) in relation to Sec 6 of RA 10175 (Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012).

The female suspects were identified as Precious Samuel, Ushahemba Ijirzua, Rachelle Luzon, Katrina Alcanta and Leanna Veronica Padua while the male suspects were identified as Aries Boy Ruiz Solis and Patrick John Gomez.

The Cybercrime Unit also documented five implementations of Cyber Warrants, conducted 62 Digital Forensic Examinations, and filed a total of 25 cases at the Office of the Prosecutor.
