Bong Go calls for strengthened gov’t interventions for the poor

As the pandemic continues to exact a toll on the country's economy with calamities adding to the adverse impacts on the lives of Filipinos, Sen Bong Go keeps on pushing for intensified government interventions to assist in the recovery of vulnerable sectors.

In a video message during his office's distribution activity in Sta. Cruz, Laguna on Thursday, 27 October, Go also underscored the importance of continued vigilance against COVID-19.

"Ngayon po na unti-unti na tayong umaahon, may nababalita naman panibagong kaso ng bagong variants ng COVID-19. Kaya naman nakikiusap ako na huwag maging kumpiyansa. Importante po na magtulungan tayo at magbayanihan," urged Go.

The senator's outreach team distributed masks and snacks to 300 struggling residents at the Times Plaza. Meanwhile, select individuals also received cellular phones and shoes.

In addition, representatives from the Department of Social Welfare and Development extended financial assistance as part of the continuing efforts of the government to support disadvantaged communities at the frontlines of the ongoing pandemic.

Hundreds of disadvantaged residents in San Pablo City received similar aid from Go's outreach team last October 20.
