The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), witnessed the turnover of check donation of the Ayala Foundation, to the families of the five fallen rescuers from Bulacan on Wednesday afternoon, at the DSWD Central Office.
Sec. Erwin Tulfo was also present with represented by its President with Ayala Foundation Mr. Ruel Maranan, and other officials of the DSWD who also witnessed the simple handover ceremony on the same day.
Likewise, in a similar turnover activity, the International Disaster Response Network, a non-government organization, also provided cash assistance and plaques to the families in recognition of the heroic act of the fallen rescuers.
The DSWD and its partners expressed their deepest sympathies to the families left behind by the dearly departed rescuers.
The five fallen rescuers (George Agustin, Troy Justin Agustin, Marby Bartolome, Jerson Resurrecion and Narciso Calayag Jr. perished while in the line of duty during the onslaught of Typhoon Karding in San Miguel, Bulacan last 5 October.
