Five residents including two children, were injured after a commercial establishment caught fire in Barangay Makiling, Calamba City, Laguna.
According to the Calamba police report, the fire started around 6 in the evening and reached the second alarm.
The caretaker of the establishment, Rolando Oliver, 27, who is the father of the two children, was immediately rushed to the hospital with his wife, Hanna Rose, and her children, a 4-year-old and a 6-year-old, and their relative, Justine Oliver, who suffered first- and second-degree burns.
Based on the investigation that the father of the family was the caretaker of the burned establishment and the victims were trapped in the fire before they were rescued by BFP personnel who came to the rescue.
The Calamba BFP declared it a fire out after one and a half hours.
The cause of the fire and the cost of the damage are still under investigation.
