SIQUIJOR ISLAND — Vice President Sara Duterte on 11 September encouraged people-government teamwork to maximize the potentials of Siquijor Island to achieve economic growth.
"The local government and the people should trust each other and together create a better life on the island," said Duterte who flew to Siquijor town to personally greet officials on the capital's 50th anniversary.
Duterte who was visiting Siquijor for the first time, said tourism and the people are the municipality's strength.
"Tourism remains one of your strengths. I hope it will create waves and waves of growth post-pandemic — benefiting everyone on the island."
