Sen. Bong Go appealed for continued bayanihan efforts for sectors worst-hit by the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic as his office conducted relief operations in Nueva Valencia and Sibunag, Guimaras on Wednesday, 31 August.
In a video message, Go also urged the residents to continue supporting the government's pandemic efforts so the country may recover swiftly from the challenges brought by the global health crisis.
"Sana po'y nasa mabuti kayong kalagayan. Alam ko pong nasa gitna pa tayo ng krisis. Ngunit, magtulungan lang po tayo, malalampasan po natin ito bilang nagkakaisang mamamayang Pilipino," he said.
Go's team distributed snacks and masks to 585 residents at their respective municipal gymnasiums. They gave new pairs of shoes and bicycles to select individuals to help them in commuting, and also provided others with computer tablets for educational purposes.
Meanwhile, personnel from the Department of Social Welfare and Development provided aid under its Livelihood Assistance Grants program.
