President Rodrigo Duterte is already aware of what’s going in on in the early stretch of the country’s hosting of the 30th Southeast Asian (SEA) Games.

Presidential spokesman Salvador Panelo said reports about the blunders in the SEA Games hosting had already reached the Chief Executive, who expressed disappointment with what happened.

In particular, he frowned on reports about the Philippine Southeast Asian Games Organizing Committee’s (Phisgoc) failure to provide rooms to football players from Thailand, Cambodia, Timor-Leste and Myanmar, leaving them with no choice but to sleep on the carpet.

“Of course, the President didn’t like it,” Panelo said in a telephone interview. “He was very disappointed with the reports about players who slept on the carpet. He, however, is not yet aware about those who were not brought to their hotels on time and those who were

fed with kikiam for breakfast.”

“First, we have to validate if it’s

really true. Even me, I don’t think it’s believable.”

Panelo said they have to carefully analyze all reports reaching them because they co uld be “fake news,” especially the reports that the Philippine football team was served with rice, egg and kikiam for breakfast.
