Toppled motorcycle row leads to gunfire

A 41-year-old registered nurse was arrested Wednesday in Barangay Cembo after allegedly discharging a .45-caliber pistol during an argument with a neighbor, police reported Thursday.
The Southern Police District (SPD) identified the suspect by his alias, Benson Remo, a resident of the barangay. He faces complaints of attempted murder and violations of Republic Act 10591, or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act.
According to a police report, the confrontation began after a resident was informed that his nephew’s parked motorcycle had been deliberately knocked over.
When the man went to inspect the vehicle, neighbors notified him that the suspect had returned to the scene and was shouting.
A verbal dispute ensued when the man approached the suspect to clarify the matter. Police said the suspect returned to his vehicle, retrieved a handgun, and fired a round during the altercation.
The victim sustained minor injuries to his right foot from flying concrete debris caused by the gunfire. The suspect then fled the scene in his vehicle while armed.
Patrol officers assigned to Taguig City Police Sub-Station 11 received an emergency dispatch and responded to the area, apprehending the suspect shortly afterward.
