Sometimes, you just need to pause

REST is not wasted time. When the day gets too full, sometimes the best thing to do is pause, breathe and give yourself time to recharge before taking on what comes next.

The modern workday rarely knows when to stop.
There is always another meeting, another deadline, another trip to catch or another responsibility waiting after office hours. For people with demanding careers, exhaustion can become so familiar that being constantly busy starts to feel normal.
But even the busiest routine needs a reset.
That idea sits behind Bloom Laboratories, Co., a wellness company founded by three friends whose own careers span food and beverage, hospitality and public relations. Drawing from the Traditional Chinese Medicine practices they encountered growing up, the founders created their first products, Boost and Calm, as a day-and-night pair for people trying to make wellness part of a full schedule.
The concept begins with recognizing that our needs can change throughout the day.
Boost is formulated with quercetin, resveratrol and curcumin and is recommended to be taken during the day with a full meal. Calm features 250 mg of reishi with 90 percent potency and is recommended one to two hours before bedtime.
For co-founder Barbara Tiu, the inspiration comes from something much closer to home. Reishi had already been part of her family's routine for years, with her parents taking it even before COVID-19.
Bautista also shared how Boost fits into her travel days. Before a flight, she takes it after checking in and settling into the airport lounge, making it part of her preparation for a long day of travel. With careers that often require them to stay on the go, the founders see value in having simple wellness habits that can fit around everyday commitments.
Calm serves another point in the routine. The founders describe it as an option for moments when the day calls for relaxation, including before bedtime. Bautista also shared that it can be taken during the day when she feels nervous or overwhelmed.
Bloom Laboratories brings together Traditional Chinese Medicine knowledge and contemporary research in developing its formulations. The brand also consults experts, including Dr. Kit Navarro, who explains that TCM has long focused on balance and supporting the body's response to stress.
For the founders, the goal is not to ask people to completely change their lifestyles. It is about finding practical ways to care for themselves while continuing to navigate demanding schedules.
After all, everyone needs a moment to breathe.
Sometimes, the best way to get through a packed day is to recognize when it is time to pause. Take a moment to calm down, give the body space to rest, then return when you are ready.
That simple rhythm is what Bloom Laboratories hopes to bring to everyday wellness: Boost when you need to keep going, Calm when it is time to slow down.
