Accident-hit courier wins replacement bike

A workplace financial wellness partnership delivered an unexpected turnaround for a courier employee after he won a brand-new motorcycle in a promotional campaign by consumer finance company SB Finance.
SB Finance awarded a Honda BeAT motorcycle and 10 universal gift vouchers worth P2,000 each to employees of JRS Express as part of an exclusive campaign promoting its eSALAD salary-linked loan product.
JRS Express partnered with SB Finance in 2025 to give nearly 2,500 employees access to the credit facility. To mark the collaboration, SB Finance held a promotional raffle for employees who utilized their credit line, with the official draw taking place July 24, 2026.
Grand prize winner Jenovem Cruz, a JRS Express employee of three years, said the prize replaced a vehicle he lost months earlier in a road accident caused by another motorist. Left without compensation for the damage, Cruz had been borrowing an office vehicle to commute to work.
"I really did not expect to win," Cruz said. "This is a huge help to me, especially since I no longer had my own motorcycle because of the accident. Now, I do not have to borrow one just to report to work."
Cruz used the eSALAD facility to cover expenses following the crash and support his family's daily needs, repaying the loan through automatic payroll deductions.
"We are glad that eSALAD has become even more meaningful for Jenovem and his colleagues," said Jas Gaa, head of corporate employee loans at SB Finance. "Through our eSALAD partnerships, we hope to support employees not only with responsible financing solutions but also with meaningful programs that recognize and reward them."
SB Finance president and CEO Abbie Dans-Casanova said the program aims to broaden access to formal credit through employer partnerships while supporting financial literacy and employee engagement across partner firms.
