Filipinas team captain Hali Long is taking her talents Down Under after signing with A-League Women’s side Brisbane Roar FC.

The 31-year-old defender will embark on her latest professional challenge as she joins Filipinas teammates Angie Beard and Katrina Guillou in Australia.

It will be Long’s third professional club after winning titles with Kaya FC-Iloilo in the PFF Women’s League and BGC-College of Asian Scholars in the Thai Women’s League.

Long said she is eager to embrace a new challenge while helping Brisbane return to the top of the A-League Women’s competition.

“I’m excited to take on a new challenge in a new country and ready to push myself while helping the team reach its goals this year. I can’t wait to meet the girls and get started!” Long said.

Brisbane head coach Johnathan Clemente believes Long’s leadership and physicality will immediately boost the squad as it chases its first league title since the 2017-2018 season.

“Hali is a genuine, proper defender. She loves to tackle and head the ball in all circumstances and she’ll no doubt put her body on the line for Brisbane,” Clemente said.

“A leader and legend of Philippines football as captain with 106 international caps.”

Long arrives in Australia with an impressive collection of accomplishments from both club and international football.

She was named Most Valuable Player of the PFF Women’s League in 2025 before earning the same honor in the Thai Women’s League in 2026.
