Katrina Guillou is taking her game Down Under.

The Filipinas midfielder has signed with the Brisbane Roar, giving her a new club home ahead of her stint with the Philippine national team in the 20th Asian Games in Nagoya, Japan.

The A-League Women’s club is banking on Guillou’s vast international experience as it looks to build on its fourth-place finish last season.

Head coach Johnathan Clemente believes the 32-year-old can make an immediate impact.

“Katrina’s a technically gifted and extremely hardworking midfielder with experience playing at the highest level in Sweden, the USA and at the World Cup. She is a massive coup for the club and we’re excited to have her,” Clemente said.

Guillou, who has played in Europe and the United States, said she is eager to embrace another challenge in Australia.

“I’m excited for this next chapter and opportunity to compete and push myself. I’m looking forward to the competition and everything that comes with it,” Guillou said.

The veteran midfielder brings an impressive international résumé, scoring 13 goals in 46 appearances for the Filipinas.

She was part of the Philippine squad that won the ASEAN Women’s Championship in 2022 and captured the country’s first women’s football gold medal in the Southeast Asian Games in 2025.

Guillou also played for the historic Filipinas side that made its FIFA Women’s World Cup debut in New Zealand in 2023.

Before beginning her Australian adventure, however, Guillou will first report for national duty as the Filipinas chase another breakthrough in the Asian Games.

The Philippines is bracketed in Group C with China, Hong Kong and Uzbekistan as it looks to make a deep run in Nagoya.
