  • Police officers seized more than P14.2 million worth of suspected shabu in Ermita, Manila, arresting a 33-year-old high-value target in an undercover operation.

Manila Police District (MPD) director Brig. Gen. Arnold Abad identified the suspect as George Pascual, also known by the alias “Kapatid,” a resident of Barangay Tanza, Navotas City.

Following a test buy based on informant reports, an undercover officer completed a drug purchase from the suspect around 5:10 p.m. along Maria Orosa Street in Barangay 666, Zone 72, Ermita. Officers immediately took the suspect into custody without resistance.

Law enforcement officers recovered two small and two large heat-sealed plastic sachets containing roughly 2,100 grams of suspected shabu, valued at standard drug market prices at P14,280,000, along with dusted marked buy-bust money.

Police are preparing charges against Pascual for illegal drug sales and possession under Republic Act 9165, the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, to be filed with the Manila Prosecutor’s Office.

In a separate operation early Wednesday morning, Northern Police District officers arrested a 45-year-old construction worker classified as a high-value target in Barangay Punturin, Valenzuela City.

Personnel from the district’s Drug Enforcement Unit conducted the buy-bust operation at approximately 4:49 a.m., seizing two plastic sachets containing roughly 63.6 grams of suspected shabu with an estimated value of P432,480.

The suspect remains in police custody and faces inquest proceedings before the Valenzuela City Prosecutor’s Office for drug sale and possession under Republic Act 9165.
