Authorities arrested two high-value individuals and confiscated 55 grams of suspected shabu valued at P374,000 during a targeted buy-bust operation along H. Santos Street in Barangay Kasilawan, Makati City on Sunday, 9 August.
The operation, which unfolded at around 8:16 p.m., targeted a 45-year-old female suspect and a 22-year-old male suspect.
Law enforcement officers initiated the arrest after the suspects allegedly sold a sachet of suspected shabu in exchange for P500. A subsequent search yielded eight additional sachets from the female suspect and a knot-tied plastic pack containing more of the illicit substance from the male suspect, culminating in the total recovery of 55 grams of suspected shabu.
The apprehended individuals are now facing formal criminal complaints for violations of Sections 5 and 11 of Article II of Republic Act No. 9165, otherwise known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, covering the unauthorized sale and possession of dangerous substances.
Both suspects remain in police custody while procedural documentation is finalized for inquest proceedings at the Makati City Prosecutor’s Office. NEIL ALCOBER
