The local government of Makati City continues to expand its workforce development initiatives, providing thousands of residents and jobseekers with job placements, career support, temporary work, and skills development through the first eight months of 2026.

“We want to make sure that our residents have access to opportunities that can help them find stable employment, gain valuable experience, and build better careers,” Mayor Nancy Binay said.

“Through our employment programs, we continue to provide different avenues for everyone to participate in the workforce and improve their livelihood,” she added.

Through the Makati Public Employment Service Office, the city assisted 8,230 jobseekers with referrals and placements from January through August.

The office connects applicants with partner companies, facilitates referrals, and tracks hiring outcomes.

The city also organized multiple job fair formats to match jobseekers directly with employers. Mega job fairs generated 741 hires and placements during the period, while in-house job fairs produced 368 placements and mini job fairs added another 571 hires.

To assist workers in need of immediate income, the city’s fully funded Pantawid Trabaho Program provided temporary community service work to 4,376 beneficiaries this year. Participants receive temporary work placements ranging from 15 to 30 days.

For younger workers, the fully funded Makati Internship Program provided practical work experience to 1,811 participants.

The program places young residents in local and national government offices to gain hands-on operational experience while participating in municipal projects.
