Makati City reported gains in employment and education during the first 100 days of Mayor Nancy Binay’s administration, highlighting the city’s push for inclusive and people-centered governance.
On 16 October, the city launched the Pantawid Trabaho Program, which offers temporary employment to 5,000 beneficiaries.
Qualified residents aged 18 and above, including senior citizens and pregnant women deemed fit to work, were hired for 15 days of community service at a daily wage of P695.
The initiative seeks to provide short-term income support while promoting productivity and civic engagement.
From July to September, the Makati Public Employment Service Office posted a strong placement rate, helping thousands of job seekers secure employment.
Through the Makati Internship Program, students, graduates, and out-of-school youth were placed in city departments and barangays for training and work experience.
To further widen employment options, the city will hold a Mega Job Fair on 23 October 2025, at Ayala Malls Circuit Activity Center, featuring companies offering local and overseas jobs.
Binay’s administration also recognized teachers through the World Teachers’ Day celebration, distributing Teachers’ Kits to 1,689 teaching and non-teaching personnel from public schools.
Each kit contained a jacket, shirt, mini fan, tote bag and gift voucher.
“These accomplishments in our first 100 days reflect Makati’s continued drive to empower its people — by creating more jobs, investing in youth development, and honoring our hardworking teachers,” Binay said.
“We remain focused on building a city that provides opportunities and nurtures every resident’s potential,” she added.
Binay said her administration has focused its early efforts on employment growth, education, and community empowerment as key pillars of Makati’s progress.
