The victim was identified by her family as Sheila Mae Taborlupa, one of four passengers who went missing after their vehicle plunged into the raging waters of the Tarlac River when the bridge collapsed.
Tarlac City Mayor Susan Yap accompanied Taborlupa’s family to Bayambang to confirm the identity of the victim and bring her remains home.
Rescue personnel retrieved the SUV on 2 September, according to the Tarlac City government.
A crane and an excavator were used in the retrieval operation for the vehicle, which plunged into the Tarlac River with five passengers aboard when the Agana Bridge collapsed on 29 August.
Of the five passengers, one managed to escape and survive, while the bodies of three of the four missing passengers were later found in Pangasinan waters.
The search for the remaining missing passenger continues.
