Beyond the glitz of social media, Jelai Andres showed how online influence can translate into meaningful help when communities need it most.
In the aftermath of heavy rains that greatly affected parts of Pampanga, the social media personality reached out to residents of Barangay Anon in Floridablanca by distributing relief goods to families in the community.
Her gesture did not go unnoticed. The official social media page of Barangay Anon publicly expressed its appreciation to Andres, recognizing the happiness and assistance her generosity brought to residents.
“Taos-pusong pasasalamat kay Ms. Jelai Andres sa kanyang kabutihan at malasakit,” the barangay wrote.
For the community, the assistance was more than simply receiving relief goods. Local officials described Andres’ contribution as a source of joy and encouragement during a challenging period.
“Malaking bagay po para sa aming mga kabarangay ang inyong munting handog na nagdulot ng malaking ngiti at saya sa kanilang mga puso,” the barangay added.
The message concluded with a wish that Andres would continue to be blessed as she reaches out to more people in need.
The initiative highlights another side of a personality widely known to audiences through social media. At a time when many families were dealing with the effects of severe weather, Andres used her resources and platform to bring assistance directly to a local community.
For Barangay Anon, her visit may have been a simple act of giving, but its impact was warmly felt by the people who received it.
And amid difficult days brought by the rains, Andres offered something equally valuable alongside the relief goods—a reminder that compassion and generosity can provide hope when communities are trying to get back on their feet.
