AFAD arms show makes regional debut

CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY — The Association of Firearms and Ammunition Dealers of the Philippines (AFAD) has brought its Defense & Sporting Arms Show (DSAS) to Northern Mindanao for the first time, with the four-day exhibition running 27 to 30 August at The Atrium, Limketkai Center.
Now on its 32nd year, DSAS is the country’s longest-running defense and sporting arms exhibition. It has been staged in major cities across the country, including Cebu, General Santos and Davao, but this marks its first stop in Cagayan de Oro.
The exhibition features local and imported sporting firearms from leading manufacturers, including Armscor and Metro Arms Corporation, as well as tactical equipment, optics, accessories, protective gear, storage solutions and outdoor and camping equipment.
Visitors can also view and compare various brands and models and obtain information on their prices.
AFAD board member Rhone Malcolm “Duke” de Leon said bringing the event to Cagayan de Oro would give Northern Mindanao residents access to the same exhibits and services previously available in other parts of the country.
“DSAS has been coming to Cebu, General Santos, and Davao for years — now it’s Northern Mindanao’s turn. We’re bringing the same quality exhibits and services that Metro Manila and other regions have long enjoyed,” De Leon said.
