BAGUIO CITY — The Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR) was placed under Blue Alert status on Monday as continuous rains and recent severe weather left millions of pesos in damage and disrupted key road networks, according to the Office of Civil Defense (OCD).

Emergency management agencies and local authorities have instituted round-the-clock monitoring operations to evaluate regional damage and deploy assistance.

Official reports confirm 15 individuals were directly affected by the weather, with 14 injured and no reported missing persons.

The region has suffered significant financial losses, with infrastructure damage estimated at P1.754 billion and agricultural losses reaching P8.188 million.

A total of 295 homes were damaged, including 24 completely destroyed and 271 partially ruined structures.

Displacement figures show five active evacuation centers sheltering 11 families, totaling 49 people. An additional 190 families, or 759 individuals, are receiving aid while staying outside official shelters with friends or relatives.

Relief operations remain underway as the Department of Social Welfare and Development, local government units, and partner agencies distributed P60.38 million in emergency assistance.

The Office of Civil Defense has also prepositioned P5.123 billion worth of non-food relief items across the region.
