Mitsubishi Motors Philippines Corporation has returned to the local plug-in hybrid market with the all-new Outlander PHEV, its new flagship SUV.
The five-seat Outlander GT AWD PHEV carries a suggested retail price of P2.848 million. An introductory price of P2.749 million applies to reservations and vehicle releases made until 30 September 2026.
Its arrival follows a preview at the Philippine International Motor Show earlier this year. The model is available through Mitsubishi dealerships nationwide in White Diamond, Red Diamond and Black Diamond.
A 2.4-liter MIVEC gasoline engine works with electric motors at the front and rear. The engine produces 133 PS and 195 Nm, while the front motor delivers 116 PS and 255 Nm. The rear motor is rated at 136 PS and 195 Nm.
Mitsubishi lists a combined system output of 306 PS and 450 Nm of torque. A 22.7-kWh lithium-ion battery gives the SUV an electric range of up to 100 kilometers.
Its gasoline engine and 53-liter fuel tank extend the combined driving range to almost 1,000 kilometers.
This arrangement lets owners use the Outlander PHEV for short trips on battery power while keeping the gasoline engine available for longer journeys. The vehicle can also continue as a hybrid when no charging station is nearby.
Drivers can choose from Normal, Save, Charge and EV Priority settings. Save mode holds the battery at its current charge level, while Charge mode uses the gasoline engine to replenish it. EV Priority favors battery power when conditions permit.
The Outlander uses an AC Type 2 connector, which works with much of the existing public charging network.
A full charge takes about 6.5 hours through a 230-volt, 15-amp supply, according to the specifications released by Mitsubishi.
Its twin-motor layout also supports Mitsubishi’s Super All-Wheel Control system. S-AWC coordinates the four-wheel-drive system with Active Yaw Control, stability control, traction control and the anti-lock brakes.
Seven drive modes adjust the vehicle to different needs and surfaces. Normal, Eco and Power cover most paved-road use, while Tarmac, Gravel, Snow and Mud change the power delivery and traction controls.
The new Outlander PHEV measures 4,720 mm long, 1,862 mm wide and 1,751 mm tall. It has a 2,704-mm wheelbase and 199 mm of ground clearance.
The exterior carries Mitsubishi’s Dynamic Shield front design, full LED lighting and 20-inch two-tone alloy wheels.
The cabin features light gray leather seats, a panoramic sunroof and three-zone automatic climate control. Both front seats have eight-way power adjustment, lumbar support, heating and ventilation.
A 12.3-inch touchscreen supports wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. It is paired with an eight-speaker Yamaha audio system. The equipment list also includes a 12.3-inch digital instrument display, head-up display, wireless phone charger and camera-based rearview mirror.
Safety equipment includes seven airbags, a 360-degree camera and front and rear parking sensors. Mitsubishi Motors Safety Sensing adds forward collision mitigation, blind spot warning, lane change assist, rear cross-traffic alert, lane departure warning and driver attention alert.
“The all-new Outlander PHEV is MMPC’s new SUV flagship model,” MMPC President and CEO Ritsu Imaeda said.
