What sets the event apart from a straightforward product presentation is the role of the live performances. The artists provide the music while the Ult Power Sound system provides the audio environment, allowing audiences to experience the technology in a setting built around live music, parties and social gatherings.
Built around powerful, deep sound and pronounced bass, Sony’s Ult Power Sound series is positioned to give listeners the feeling of being closer to a live concert. That makes the live performances a particularly relevant part of the September event. Rather than simply seeing the products on display, audiences will hear the music, vocals and bass in a live entertainment setting — the kind of environment the ULT series is designed to complement. Sony describes its larger ULT speakers as delivering powerful sound and bass that can help turn a space into a concert-like setting.
SB19’s international run continues
The legendary P-pop group made history in July as the first Filipino act to ignite the stage at Lollapalooza, where they debuted their single “Lawless” before a hyped crowd that sang, screamed and danced through their nearly hour-long set.
The group then brought its music to Japan for Summer Sonic 2026, performing at the festival’s Tokyo leg on 15 August, as reported by GMA Network.
Just days before the Sony event announcement, SB19 also appeared on Japanese television program DayDay, where they performed “Lawless” and discussed their international activities, according to GMA Network.
Their Lollapalooza appearance has sparked fresh fan speculation about a possible Coachella appearance, while their sold-out Wakas at Simula: The Trilogy Finale concert is set for worldwide cinema screenings in October, as reported by GMA Network.
That momentum makes the group’s appearance at Beyond The Beat particularly timely. SB19 officially joined Sony’s ULT Squad on 31 July as its newest member, shortly after its historic Lollapalooza performance.
The partnership puts SB19’s live performance energy and strong connection with fans alongside Sony’s ULT POWER SOUND campaign as the group continues to reach increasingly large audiences outside the Philippines.
Fresh OPM momentum
Singer-songwriter Maki adds another current OPM connection to the program. The artist released “habangbuhay pansamantala” in May, with a music video that featured SB19’s Justin, according to ABS-CBN.
Maki followed that with “luck,” his collaboration with James Reid, released on 30 July, as noted by ABS-CBN. The track marked their first musical collaboration, with Reid recently describing himself as a fan of Maki’s work and praising his dedication to his craft.
Maki and SB19 reunite in Japan
Maki has also taken Kolorcoaster beyond the Philippines. In June, he brought the concert project to Singapore and Indonesia, extending the reach of the album and live show, as reported by ABS-CBN.
His recent trip to Japan brought him into the same orbit as SB19 again. On 16 August, Maki was spotted at Summer Sonic Osaka to support SB19 and BINI, the only Filipino acts on the festival’s lineup, according to GMA Network.
A lineup beyond the concert stage
The rest of the lineup widens the event beyond a conventional concert. KAIA brings P-pop energy, Jeremy G. adds pop and R&B, while A-Team and Carlos Serrano III bring dance and choreography.
Jacqueline Jala, Angelique Manto and David Guison add fashion and lifestyle to the mix. COVE Manila at Okada Manila provides the entertainment setting for an event built around the physical experience of sound.
Event access
For fans, the draw is the lineup. For Sony, the event puts its Ult Power Sound system in a live entertainment environment. For the audience, the two come together through performances from artists such as SB19 and Maki.
General Admission passes have already been claimed. Eligible MySony members can still register through their membership tiers, while registering products from 1 August to 12 September can earn upgrade points.
