Public works crews are carrying out overnight road reblocking and repair activities along several major thoroughfares in Quezon City through 5 a.m. Monday, traffic authorities said.

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) work, which runs nightly from 11 p.m. to 5 a.m., includes preventive maintenance and concrete reblocking along the inner lane of Payatas Road from Petron Gas Station to Salcedo Street in Barangay Bagong Silangan, according to the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA).

The P5.12-million project is being implemented by the Quezon City 1st District Engineering Office under the 2026 General Appropriations Act.

The affected stretch is under contract with EMQ Design & Construction, which began work 10 July after an initial target completion date of 7 August.

As of early Sunday, the outer lane of Payatas Road from San Miguel Street to Wilcon remained passable to traffic. A section of C-5 Road across from UP Town Center to the corner of C.P. Garcia Avenue was also clear.

The MMDA advised motorists to expect delays, plan extra travel time, and use alternate routes while the roadworks continue.
