For over 32 years, Old Swiss Inn was a fixture in the Makati dining scene. One that you could not miss while driving past Somerset Olympia along Makati Avenue.

It was a family favorite for many for its classic Swiss dishes, including their cheese fondue that was on many of their customers' dining rotation. Then an announcement in April of this year announced that the beloved restaurant was going to shutter its doors on 1 July.

The news saddened many of their stalwart fans. Thankfully, it was not for very long. Old Swiss Inn found its way back to the place where its story began, reopening on August 08 at their original place on Belen Street in Paco, Manila.

The new space in Paco is a continuation of Old Swiss Inn's tradition of serving up a menu of hearty Swiss dishes complemented by the restaurant's cozy interiors and old world charm.

The long wooden bar on one side has become witness to many stories told over drinks and food. On their website, they hope that "every visit feels familiar and welcoming." And that is exactly what one can expect when you walk through their doors.

Founded in 1946, Old Swiss Inn has been part of Manila's dining landscape for 80 years. The move from the original Roxas Boulevard location to Paco in the '70s cemented its place in the city's culinary history.

Which makes this reopening not only a return to where their story began, but also marks the beginning of a new chapter for the restaurant. Also making his return is Chef Freddie Dalanon, who first joined the restaurant's Paco branch in the '90s, to train the kitchen team for the reopening.

Anyone already craving Old Swiss Inne favorites like the Waatlander fondue, Fresh Corned Beef, and Raclette? If that's the case, the only thing left to do is make those reservations at 0918-999 9555, and head on out to Belen Street.
