The Swiss aircraft manufacturer Pilatus has announced a halt in jet deliveries to the United States (US) following the newly imposed 39 percent tariffs on Swiss goods.

Pilatus specifically paused operations and deliveries of its PC-12 and PC-24 jets.

The US, being a crucial market for business aircraft such as those produced by the company, could face significant losses under the current policy.

“The new customs tariff imposed by the US authorities represents a significant competitive disadvantage for Pilatus,” the company said.

In line with its temporary suspension of US operations, Pilatus is considering redirecting the aircraft to other markets.

The company added it will do its best to safeguard the jobs of its 3,000 employees despite the operational cuts.

Meanwhile, the Swiss government is reportedly still in talks with the US regarding the tariffs and efforts to strengthen trade relations.
