After 20 years in the making, acclaimed contemporary artist Kublai Millan presents Other Half, a deeply personal solo exhibition that reflects on love, gratitude, struggle and the unseen forces that shape a life. Running until 13 August at Art Lounge Manila — The Podium, the exhibition reveals a body of work that could only emerge through the passage of time.

Following years of sharing stories through his art, Millan now reveals what he calls “the other half” — the quiet, often overlooked presence that has made every achievement, failure and transformation meaningful. More than a collection of paintings, Other Half is an intimate reflection on the people, experiences and moments that complete the human spirit.

“I have already shared my story, but that is only half of it. This series is the other half,” he states.

The exhibition explores the silent companions in life’s journey — the loved ones who remain in the background, the hardships that become teachers, and the joyful moments that give purpose to perseverance. It is an acknowledgment that no life is ever lived alone.
