Lt. Gen. Donald M. Gumiran formally assumed command of the Philippine Army on Tuesday, succeeding Gen. Antonio Nafarrete, who was recently named chief of staff of the Armed Forces of the Philippines.

Gumiran took the helm during the 68th Philippine Army change-of-command ceremony at Fort Bonifacio, where he was accorded full arrival honors.

In his inaugural address, Gumiran outlined key priorities that will guide his leadership, focusing on stewardship, transformation, operational readiness, organizational development, nation-building and religious faith.
