BAIC Philippines has entered Cebu through a new full-service dealership that gives the brand a permanent sales and service base in the province.
BAIC Cebu is located at the corner of Gov. M. Cuenco Avenue and J. Panis Street in Kasambagan, Cebu City. Pacific Autoworld Inc., a company under the Borromeo Group, operates the facility.
The showroom carries BAIC’s full new energy vehicle range. Customers can inspect the vehicles and arrange test drives at the same location, while a financing team is available to discuss payment options.
The facility also houses a service center, so owners no longer have to rely on support outside Cebu.
Five models are on display. These are the B30e Dune 4x2, B30e Dune 4x4, B40e Trailmaster rEV, B60e Beaumont Hybrid and B60e Beaumont rEV. The range gives customers a choice of electrified sport utility vehicles for daily travel and longer trips across the province.
BAIC sees Cebu as a suitable market for the lineup because motorists often split their time between city roads and destinations outside the urban center.
Trips to Moalboal, Oslob and Osmeña Peak can involve long distances and varied road conditions. Fuel use and access to maintenance can therefore weigh heavily on a buyer’s decision.
Aftersales support is especially important to customers who are still getting used to hybrid and electric vehicles. Questions about maintenance and long-term ownership can carry as much weight as the vehicle itself.
The Cebu site has five dedicated service work bays. Its technicians can perform routine maintenance and attend to the hybrid and electric systems used across the BAIC range.
The dealership also has access to the UAAGI Auto Group service network that supports BAIC customers elsewhere in the country.
Cherry May de los Santos, marketing director of BAIC Philippines, thanked Pacific Autoworld for taking on the brand in Cebu.
She said BAIC plans to introduce more new energy SUVs in the Philippines over the next year as more families consider electrified vehicles.
Cebu also serves as a business and logistics center for the Visayas, which gives BAIC access to families and business owners who regularly travel beyond the city limits.
The partnership places BAIC under a local operator with experience in the Cebu automotive market.
It also gives the company a physical point of contact for customers who want to see the vehicles before deciding whether an electrified SUV suits their needs.
The service center is a key part of the opening because the dealership’s work continues after each sale.
Prospective buyers can compare the models in person rather than depend only on online specifications, while owners can return to the same address for scheduled maintenance.
