  • Police recovered a stolen cellphone in Taguig City after tracking the suspect’s movements through closed-circuit television footage and coordinating with local officials and a repair shop, authorities said.

The Taguig City Police Station’s Sub-Station 3 recovered the cellphone four days after it was reported stolen from a chicken store along C5 Waterfun in Barangay Pinagsama.

Police said the cellphone, valued at P3,799, was taken from the store counter at about 3:40 p.m. on 2 August.

Following the report, police reviewed CCTV footage to trace the suspect’s movements and possible escape route. The footage showed the suspect heading toward Barangay Central Signal and later Barangay South Signal.

Police continued reviewing CCTV recordings on 6 August and determined that the suspect had returned to Barangay Central Signal.

Further tracking led officers to a cellphone repair shop where the suspect had allegedly brought the stolen device.

Through coordination with the shop owner, police recovered the cellphone and returned it to its owner.
