  • TikTok Shop and the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) have partnered to expand digital livelihood opportunities through “SLP! Tara, Live Sell Na!,” an initiative under TikTok Shop’s Unlad Lokal program and the DSWD’s Sustainable Livelihood Program.

Valenzuela City will serve as the pilot site, where aspiring entrepreneurs and members of vulnerable communities will receive training in content creation, LIVE selling, seller onboarding, affiliate marketing and other digital commerce tools.

TikTok Shop said the initiative aims to help micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) participate in the digital economy by equipping them with practical skills and connecting them with creators, customers and broader online markets.

The program is supported by the DSWD, the City of Valenzuela and First District Rep. Kenneth Gatchalian.

According to TikTok Shop, more than 90 percent of active sellers on the platform are local businesses, while local sellers posted over 200 percent sales growth in 2025.

DSWD Secretary Rex Gatchalian said the partnership complements the agency’s livelihood initiatives by providing beneficiaries with digital skills that can create sustainable income opportunities.
