SM Supermalls and Go Negosyo have strengthened their partnership to create more livelihood opportunities for Filipinos through the Trabaho at Negosyo program, which combines job matching, entrepreneurship mentoring, skills development, and government services in a single venue. The initiative aims to support both employment generation and enterprise development as drivers of inclusive economic growth.
Held on 27 June at SM City Bataan, the event brought together around 400 aspiring entrepreneurs, business owners, and job seekers. Participants were given opportunities to learn from industry experts, connect with employers and mentors, and explore practical pathways toward sustainable livelihoods.
Organizers said the initiative seeks to build an ecosystem that equips aspiring entrepreneurs and job seekers with the knowledge, mentorship, networks, and opportunities needed to succeed. It also recognizes that employment and entrepreneurship complement each other in fostering inclusive growth and stronger local economies.
“When we empower entrepreneurs, we create opportunities not only for individual success but for entire communities. Every thriving MSME has the potential to generate jobs, inspire innovation, and help build a stronger Philippine economy,” said Jose Maria “Joey” Concepcion III, founder of Go Negosyo. “Partnerships like Trabaho at Negosyo enable us to bring mentorship, learning, and opportunities closer to more Filipinos.”
Department of Trade and Industry Secretary Cristina A. Roque emphasized the role of micro, small, and medium enterprises in the economy and the importance of public-private partnerships in supporting business growth.
“MSMEs remain the backbone of the Philippine economy. Through strong public-private partnerships, we can provide entrepreneurs with greater access to opportunities, knowledge, and markets that will help them grow, become more competitive, and create more jobs for Filipinos,” Roque said.
For SM Supermalls, the partnership aligns with its broader goal of creating opportunities that help communities thrive.
“SM Supermalls has always believed that our malls can be more than places to shop—they can be platforms where opportunities are created and communities are strengthened,” said Joaquin L. San Agustin, executive vice president for marketing of SM Supermalls. “Through our partnership with Go Negosyo and our government partners, we continue to open doors for Filipinos to learn new skills, find meaningful employment, start businesses, and achieve sustainable growth.”
SM and Go Negosyo said they will continue working together to expand access to entrepreneurship, employment, and livelihood opportunities, with the goal of helping build more resilient communities and supporting long-term economic development.
