Nissan Philippines and its employees have extended financial support to communities affected by the earthquake that struck parts of Mindanao in June.

The donations were turned over to the Philippine Red Cross and the Angat Buhay Foundation. Both groups continue to provide relief and other forms of assistance to families affected by the disaster.

Nissan said the support will help fund ongoing humanitarian work as residents repair their homes and rebuild their lives. The aid also adds to the automaker’s previous disaster response efforts with the Philippine Red Cross.

Nissan Philippines president Yoshinori Kanazawa said companies have a responsibility to help the communities they serve during difficult periods.

He also thanked the Philippine Red Cross and Angat Buhay for their work on the ground. Kanazawa said the donations may offer some relief to families that still face a long recovery after the earthquake.

The Philippine Red Cross provides immediate assistance during natural disasters through its relief and emergency response programs. Nissan has supported several of these efforts over the years.

Nissan also continues to work with Angat Buhay on outreach programs for families that need help during emergencies. The foundation works with local groups and volunteers to deliver aid to affected areas.

Recovery may take time for many communities across Mindanao, especially for families that lost homes or sources of income. Nissan said it will continue to support programs that help affected residents regain some stability after the disaster.
