Maynilad Water Services Inc. collected 367 kilograms of waste during a coastal cleanup at SM By the Bay in Pasay City as part of its observance of World Ocean Day 2026.

The activity brought together 67 employee-volunteers, who removed litter and debris from the shoreline to help prevent waste from reaching Manila Bay and nearby waterways.

The cleanup is part of Maynilad's broader environmental sustainability program, which promotes water resource protection, responsible waste management, and employee volunteerism.

"As a water and wastewater services provider, Maynilad recognizes that the protection of waterways requires collective action," said Chief Sustainability Officer Atty. Roel S. Espiritu.

"Through activities like this, we are able to engage our employees in environmental stewardship while helping protect coastal and marine environments," he added.

World Ocean Day is observed annually to promote the conservation and sustainable use of marine resources while encouraging action against pollution and other threats to ocean health.

Maynilad said it continues to invest in wastewater treatment facilities, water resource management, and infrastructure projects that support cleaner waterways across its West Zone concession area.
