SM Cares will hold simultaneous coastal cleanup activities at 32 SM malls nationwide on 19 September as part of the International Coastal Cleanup 2026.
With the theme “Bayanihan Para sa Karagatan — Together for Our Oceans,” the initiative aims to bring individuals, families and communities together to help divert waste from the country’s seas, shores and waterways.
SM Cares said more than 48,800 volunteers participated in its 2025 International Coastal Cleanup across 28 SM malls, collecting more than 200,000 kilograms of trash.
Earlier this year, 9,453 volunteers from 16 participating malls also collected and diverted 24,244 kilograms of trash during cleanup drives for World Water Day and World Oceans Day.
This year’s cleanup will take place in locations across Metro Manila, North and South Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao. SM by the BAY will serve as the main event site for Manila Bay.
Individual participants may register through the SM Malls Online app by searching for the International Coastal Cleanup 2026 event and completing the registration process.
