The Office of the Ombudsman is now investigating at least P60 billion worth of flood control projects in Cebu.

Whatever course is chosen must preserve continuity without prejudging Commissioner Regalado.
Former President and Pampanga Rep. Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo on Wednesday expressed her support for Ombudsman Jesus Crispin Remulla amid reports that an impeachment complaint may be filed against him in the House of Representatives.
In a statement posted on social media, Arroyo said she would oppose any impeachment effort targeting the Ombudsman.
“If an impeachment resolution is filed in the House against him, I will vote against it,” Arroyo said.
“Impeachments are fundamentally political, and a vote in favor of Ombudsman Remulla would be my response,” she added.
Remulla has recently faced criticism over the Office of the Ombudsman’s handling of the plunder complaint against Senator Rodante Marcoleta.
Arroyo recalled that Remulla served as a Career Executive Service Officer assistant secretary during the administration of former President Joseph Estrada and voluntarily gave up his position after the EDSA Dos uprising to allow her to reorganize Malacañang.
“Rather than cling to his civil service security of tenure, he graciously vacated his post to give me a free hand in organizing Malacañang,” she said.
She also noted that Remulla later became her ally in Congress when he served as the representative of Cavite’s 3rd District from 2004 to 2007 during her presidency.
“He became my ally when he became a congressman during my presidency and did much valuable legislative policy and oversight for my administration,” Arroyo said.
