PRO2, partners launch community projects, health outreach in Isabela

The Police Regional Office 2 (PRO2), in partnership with the Isabela provincial government, local officials, and community stakeholders, launched a series of community development projects and public service initiatives in Barangay Salay, San Agustin, Isabela, on Tuesday.
The activities, spearheaded by the 2nd Isabela Provincial Mobile Force Company through its Revitalized Pulis sa Barangay (R-PSB) Team, aimed to bring essential government services closer to residents.
Among the projects inaugurated were a new footbridge, a renovated Day Care Center, and a Material Recovery Facility.
Organizers also turned over bookshelves and about 300 books donated by Sierra Falcones Cagayan Nest to support early childhood education in the village.
Residents likewise benefited from a free optical mission led by Dr. Rizza Sagaysay, which provided eye examinations and prescription eyeglasses.
The activity was attended by PRO2 Regional Director Brig. Gen. Mariano C. Rodriguez, Isabela Governor Rodolfo T. Albano III, Barangay Salay Chairperson Efren L. Matias, Rev. Fr. PCpt. John Ralph S. Teston, officer-in-charge of the Regional Pastoral Office, as well as local officials, stakeholders, and community members.
According to PRO2, the newly constructed footbridge will provide residents with safer and more convenient access within the community, while the upgraded Day Care Center and donated learning materials are expected to improve early childhood education. The Material Recovery Facility aims to strengthen solid waste management and environmental protection efforts, while the optical mission addressed the eye care needs of residents.
Rodriguez said the initiative underscores the police force's continuing commitment to supporting programs that directly benefit communities, particularly those in geographically isolated areas.
He added that the Revitalized Pulis sa Barangay program not only strengthens police presence at the barangay level but also fosters collaboration among law enforcement agencies, local government units, and residents through initiatives that promote education, health, environmental protection, and community development.
