Epson is helping businesses turn physical records into structured digital workflows through Document Capture Pro, its scanning and document management software for compatible Epson DS-series scanners.

The software allows organizations to create up to 30 customizable scanning jobs, depending on the device, reducing repetitive steps when processing invoices, contracts, forms and other records.

Document Capture Pro uses optical character recognition (OCR) to recognize text in scanned pages, making documents searchable and allowing compatible files to be converted into editable Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint formats.

It supports file formats including JPEG, PDF, TIFF, PNG, DOCX, XLSX and PPTX, depending on the scanner and operating system.

For high-volume scanning, the software can automatically separate documents based on conditions such as blank pages, barcodes, OCR, form type, file size and patch codes.

Processed documents can then be routed to compatible cloud storage services, including Google Drive and Microsoft OneDrive.

The system can also help organizations repurpose printed information. Pages from reports, training materials or other documents, for example, can be scanned and converted into editable presentations, spreadsheets or text documents instead of being recreated manually.
