Vertiv has opened a new manufacturing facility in Johor, Malaysia, expanding its regional production capacity to support growing demand for artificial intelligence (AI) and high-density computing infrastructure across Asia.

Located in Senai, Johor, the 236,000-square-foot facility will serve customers across Southeast Asia, North Asia, Australia, and New Zealand by providing regional manufacturing, engineering, logistics, and deployment capabilities.

Vertiv CEO Giordano "Gio" Albertazzi said the investment strengthens the company's ability to deliver power, cooling, and digital infrastructure solutions as AI adoption accelerates.

"Asia continues to be one of the fastest-growing regions for AI and digital infrastructure investment," Albertazzi said. "This facility enhances our ability to support customers with quality, speed, scale, and resilience."

The Johor site will manufacture and test thermal management, power, and prefabricated infrastructure solutions designed for AI data centers and other high-density computing environments.

The company said the facility is expected to create up to 500 skilled jobs by 2027.

Among the products to be manufactured are liquid cooling systems, modular power infrastructure, and prefabricated overhead distribution systems aimed at reducing deployment times for data centers.

The plant also features automated manufacturing processes, dedicated testing environments for liquid cooling and power systems, and operates under Vertiv's global quality management standards and ISO compliance.

Paul Churchill, vice president and general manager for Vertiv Asia, said the new facility will enable the company to respond more quickly to customers as demand for AI infrastructure continues to grow.

"Johor's regional connectivity, expanding technology ecosystem, and skilled workforce make it an ideal location as we help customers deploy increasingly sophisticated digital infrastructure," Churchill said.

The Johor facility is part of Vertiv's broader strategy to expand manufacturing capacity and support the rapid growth of AI, cloud, enterprise, and colocation data centers across the region.
